As a young woman teaching at an all-boys' school, I am keenly aware of my gender every day, but I recognized that boys were not as aware of gender in their day-to-day lives. What might it do for society if boys are more aware of gender? My project, informed by my experiences as a young woman in an all-boys' setting, aims to find out if learning history through feminist lenses can change the way they think, talk, and learn about women and girls, as well as how they relate to the world around them.
